I posted on that thread that our wedding song was "Love Can Build a Bridge" by the Judds. I sang it to JM during the reception, because I didn't think I could hold it together to sing during the ceremony.

I'm going to repeat the lyrics here:

I'd gladly walk across a desert with no shoes upon my feet
To share with you the last bite of bread I had to eat.
I would swim out to save you in your sea of broken dreams.
When all your hopes are fading,
Let me show you what love means.

Love can build a bridge
Between your heart and mine
Love can build a bridge
Don't you think it's time?
Don't you think it's time?

I would whisper love so loudly
Every heart could understand
That love and only love
Can join the tribes of man
I would give my heart's desire so that you might see
The first step is to realize it all begins with you and me

Love can build a bridge
Between your heart and mine
Love can build a bridge
Don't you think it's time?
Don't you think it's time?

When we stand together, it's our finest hour
We can do anything
Anything
Keep believing in the power

Love can build a bridge
Between your heart and mine
Love can build a bridge
Don't you think it's time?
Don't you think it's time?

I didn't tell him about that thread. I know he reads here a lot and will sometimes look at my profile to follow my posts.

A few minutes ago, I got a text from him, directing me to a youtube video. It said, "Check out this video on YouTube; didn't understand this song then, I do now my love."

It was "Love Can Build a Bridge."

And I cried.

So sweet. It's amazing how they didn't "get it" then, isn't it? Better late than never...

In all fairness, I really didn't get it any better than he did. We were 2 dysfunctional people dancing an intricate, dysfunctional dance together until I quit dancing. That's when things really went to hell.

I'm profoundly grateful for where we are today.

Aw

My WH texted me today that our song was on at the grocery store. No idea if he read that thread.
