Yep, I know it's about the pictures and most people don't read the profiles... but I am so freaking tired of people sending me messages that say "I think we'd be a good match". Then you read their profile and they're the polar opposite of you.

If you're Very Liberal, they're Ultra Conservative, If you love reading books they say "I don't read much." If you love playing video games they say "Playing video games for hours on end is stupid."

WTF?! Yeah, I do pics first then profile. If I"m not attracted to you, then I'm not going to read your profile. If I fid you cute, I'll read it and see if we have stuff in common. Otherwise, no! Don't send me a message that says 'It seems like we have a lot in common' If we have zero in common and you hate all of my interests!!

End rant. Please feel free to add your own OLD rant here .

Guys more than 20 years older than my range saying "I'm a very young 105 years old". No, you're not. You're creepy.

Poofers not allowed. Or I think we should be allowed to attach labels to our dates:

*poofs without warning*
*emotionally void*
*will bolt as soon as you've had sex"
*only separated for 3 weeks"
*cheated on wife!*
*forgot to mention he had more kids than originally listed*
*weighs at least 40 more pounds than photos!*

Oh, the joys of OLD.

lol

Ok, here's one. Today I got an email on OLD. Very nice email. Went to the profile. Great sounding profile. Sounds like a normal guy. Looks like we have common interests. His main pic was not bad. So far so good. Well, then I clicked on the rest of his pics. He apparently is a body builder or something but there were a bunch of shirtless pics at the gym, ab pics, and one really *great* pic from the neck down of him with nothing on except a banana hammock. Ewwwwh! Why would you put this on OLD? Even if he is not full of himself, he is coming off that way. Idk..maybe I'm crazy. I just don't find this attractive. Are there women out there that do I wonder?

Hurtbs,

I understand your frustration ... but in your post you struck a cord with me as I met my SO on OLD and we are quit the polar opposite. Me being liberal, him being ultra conservative. We may the minority but I love being the opposites as we balance each other, can agree to disagree, and the best thing is we broaden each others view point.

I get your point of the frustration of not reading profiles and making blanket statements of "we would be great together" but in my honest opinion, there is something to say about "polar opposites" it wouldn't hurt to still strike up a conversation ... You never know!

I've recently been dipping my toe in OLD. Can I even begin with the OMG comments? One guy posted a picture of himself in the men's bathroom,...urinals and all. Really??? (well, at least there wasn't a wardrobe malfuntion going on too....) Could you not have taken one at your house? If you felt the need to snap a picture you would later use on OLD could you have at least cropped out the urinals?? All it would have taken is to angle the phone a little to one side. I laughed so hard at that one I started choking. I literally had tears rolling down my cheeks.

What is up with not being able to spell or have simple correct grammar?? I cringe to think that I would ever respond to someone that has a profile littered with spelling errors.

Needless to say,..... I did not reach out to urinalman!

I didn't have any strange contacts with OLD people, but I ran across one profile that I was considering contacting. But then a few days later I was walking with my son by his music conservatory and saw one of the profile pics up on a billboard. The woman had used a photo of a pianist she found on-line as her own. Reading through the profile it didn't sound like a professional musician, so I figured it had to be a fake. Strange.

forgot to mention he had more kids than originally listed

I dated a guy for a couple months. He lived with his parents. He had 4 kids, but they lived with their mom. I was really not sure about that many kids, but, he seemed nice, so, we dated. Eventually, on the way to have dinner with his parents, he mentioned the OTHER 2 kids he had. Then, during dinner, his parents mentioned him going out the weekend before and said something like "I can't believe 'kids mom" was the stripper hired for the party. Are you ever going to get that divorce rolling?"

I told his parents i enjoyed getting to know them, and I had learned quite enough about him. Walked out...had never been so happy in my life I was the one that drove.

I am so glad to be done dating.
