Starting to feel a little insecure.

We've had snow twice in South Carolina in the past month.

And about 15 minutes ago, our whole house shook and vibrated for about 30 seconds. Thought there was a helicopter flying or something. Then on facebook, every single person I know posted "Did y'all just feel that?" Across the entire state.

2 news stations also posted on their facebook feeds.

Wondering what is next.

Locusts are next, if I remember correctly.

I felt it in Kennesaw, GA (NW of Atlanta) and a friend of mine in Charlotte NC felt it.

I'm in the Charlotte area and didn't feel a thing! At least, I don't *THINK* I did. There was one time I thought I heard something and someone come into the house- I checked and Waywardson wasn't home, yet, so I dismissed it!

I can confirm that NW of Atlanta felt it. All my cousins in north GA are Facebook posting about it now.

I, otoh, remember the Northridge earthquake in 1992 in SoCal that was a 7.2. Since then? If I take one of those psych tests (you know the ones, they ask you things like if you like to play with fire) I always answer YES, I am afraid of earthquakes.

NIK, didn't they have locusts just this past summer? The 17-year swarm?

Quakes freak me out. Have been in a bunch of strong ones throughout my life. I was in the tub having a shower when the CA Northridge quake hit!

Stand under a door way if its strong.

To this day, I still put my fine china/glasses on the bottom shelves, etc.

No earthquake in Virginia, but snow thunder, which I never heard of. It was loud and lasted quite a few seconds. I wondered what exploded until I went on social media and found out.--nothing. Just Mother Nature acting out.

I was surprised when I saw it on the news. I did not feel it NE of Atlanta. I'm glad you are OK and nothing broke. When earthquakes happen in this area of the country, they can be pretty bad because of all the granite and hard rock. Fortunately it is extremely rare and hopefully that will be the end of it for our lifetimes.

You were in the shower at 4:31 am?
