I have MC on Monday and would like to bring up the subject of talking to the kids about the truth. My WH had a LTA affair and I would like our 11 and 8 year olds to know that there is a reason that I am wanting to divorce their dad. I don't feel comfortable lying or saying that we no longer love each other. Is there an age-appropriate way to tell the kids without throwing him under the bus? What has worked with others?

My DD15 (who mentally is like an 8 yr old) her IC talked about the language of broken promises and secrets and a marriage is not a place for either. With that being said- DD15 is the youngest of 4. Others in their 20's and she has heard them reference dad's girlfriend.
