Our Praise Team, at church, has practices once every two months, to prepare for new songs that we're adding to our list. Today was practice day for us, and Do3K and I knew there were going to be some changes made...we attended a conference with our Pastors earlier this month, so they had discussed it, some, with us. We both told them that if they needed to downsize the team that we would both willingly step down, because we want things to flow and be in unity...if that means having to step down for a season, that's fine. Both of us were released from the team (along with about 1/2 of the other people b/c our team was HUGE...seriously, almost 20 people), but then our Pastor said he wanted to talk with Do3K, afterwards. The reason we were released is b/c they have something else in mind for us. As of March 1st, Do3K and I will be the Youth Leaders at our church
It's not something we asked for, but it's something that's been our hearts for the last four years...it just wasn't the right timing for it.
At this point, we can't really tell anyone, in real life, because it's not been made official among the congregation. Soooo, of course I had to come share it here
We are so excited and are blessed by being asked to do this. If anyone has ideas for youth activities, they are very appreciated

Our youth groups used to go on centrifuge and missionfuge trips, that was pretty incredible, we did service projects like adopt a grandparent and we were each responsible for helping with chores or anything they needed. We did fix up projects around the church, and formed a drama team. We also worked with the little kids and helped with parents nights out. One of my favorite activities we did was monthly get together a, we'd have a short bible study, eat munchies and generally just have fun, playing games or planning future activities.
I originally joined SI as a way to help my best friends find ways of coping with infidelity, but now infidelity has touched my family much closer to home.

Congratulations to you both. It is great to be asked to take a position like that that you wanted. Obviously you are both held in high regard by your pastor.
