I recently joined the dating site, Zoosk. Anyway, how does this site function? I haven't even posted a photo yet I've received a bunch of chat requests, etc. How phony is that!? ha ha
Can anyone tell me how this site operates? I mean, does this site just randomly send out messages to new members to hook them into signing up for their paid membership??
Please fill me in.
BTW, there are some mighty fine looking men in my area. Wow, I never knew!
Thanks for any input!

I was on Zoosk for just a little while...seems to me there was a lot of action, but you have to pay in order to access the important stuff like email etc. And if the person you want to contact isn't a paid member it's impossible to talk with them.
I've found Match.com and eHarmony to be a much more effective ways to actually meet people.

IMHO. Zoosk us a terrible OLD service. I did not even last the month before I cancelled. It seemed to me to be more of a hook up site. I joined Chemistry.com and found it much better. The suggested match ups were also closer to what I was looking for.
I do wish your experience is better than mine. Maybe it was just where I am located that made Zoosk such a poor OLD service.
Good luck!!

I was on Zoosk for the last 3 months and I have met some really nice guys that I will probably go on a first date with a couple of them. The problem for me was the distance.
Have to have a virtual coffee first meet and then try to figure out a way to meet in person.
That being said, there were some really creepy guys there too that if you give an inch they are calling you at all hours of the day and night and telling you how much they love you and you just met OL the day before WTF?
I canceled my subscription after I finally realized the site posts a "Thanks for the wink, now tell me more about yourself" as if its coming from you when you never ever winked at the guy that looks like Jabba the Hut!

That's exactly what I wanted to know! I haven't added much to my profile, however, I'm getting LOTS of views and chat invites. I'm thinking how is this possible when I'm new to the site and there is no pic of myself?!
Then I got to wondering if they are possibly receiving messages from "me" and that is why they are making contact? I haven't made contact with anyone yet so I suspect Zoosk is doing something behind the scenes to keep members interested.
Thanks for all the responses. I'm a newbie to OLD so I'm not sure what to expect.
