I got that job in DC that I posted about before. So I took this week off of work, packed up my son and drove to Maryland to look for an apartment right outside DC. Found a perfect 2 bedroom/ 2 bath with daycare the next block. I will be taking the bus to work every day so I put my car in storage mode. My monthly expenses will be cut by almost $1000 and my income increased greatly. Now that the lease is signed, I am going to work on snow balling debt I have and getting 70% of it paid off by the end of the year. Now that I don't have that money sucking asshole draining me because he wanted to buy Jay Z tickets when the rent is due , I will be able to get really ahead financially. I am very excited about this!

This is going to be a great year for me.

Wonderful. There is nothing like seeing that debt just melt away. Did the same for the last two years, am now debt free and am working on building my savings. Good luck to you!

Woo!! This is awesome.

You're going to love DC. I lived there for 3 1/2 years - if you want recommendations ever, let me know. I miss the restaurants...sigh.
