My Mom bought an Asus all in one computer a few months ago (the on where everything plugs into the monitor and there is no separate tower). It has Windows 8.
She was logged into it when she went to the hospital because it was supposed to be an outpatient thing. 10 days later she came home, and a few days later tried to log in with no luck. She has one password that she uses for stuff like this. It's not taking it. The hint shows that what we think it should be is correct. She did not set up a PW recovery disk when she set this PC up. It's not tied to her Windows account either. I tried to set up an administrator account, but that didn't help either.
What else can I do other than reload Windows?

Is caps lock on?
Does it "lock up" after so many failed attempts for a period of time?

Caps lock is not on. It doesn't appear to lock you out. We've tried rebooting a few times as well.

Is it possible that one of the letters is not registering when you hit that key? Try a different keyboard?

Whalers, I did try the onscreen keyboard and there is the option for it to show what you typed. No luck there
