I think the move was a bigger blessing than I thought....

Just got an email today that 3 student loans that I put on an extended graduated payment plan while pregnant are going back up to their regular payments in a couple of months... doubling what they are now. I had to do that option because my XWH jackass wouldn't sign forms for me to put those loans on forbearance...but I found a loophole where I could at least cut the payments in half. I had no choice. I had started my job like 4 months prior and my employer was more than generous in holding my position and being understanding about my pregnancy so soon after being hired.... but I had to take 6 weeks leave without pay. I had to do something drastic!

I found out this week also....that my health insurance is going up about $100 a month and I found out my daycare expense is going up about $25 a month....even before I make my first basically I will be paying out in daycare what I used to pay out in rent.

I'm feeling slightly discouraged. I will actually be in a worst place financially but luckily my dad will be there for support. I will be paying more out a month than I did before I had to pay for daycare and more student loan debt.

I just hope that things improve... the next few years are gonna be rough.

As a person who knows well the joys of repaying student loans, please call them and ask them to help you.

Mine shoot up too, but i just can't pay as much as they are asking me to. They took my income and basically i am paying so much over the interest payments at the moment. Yes, I will be paying for these damn things when my grandkids come, but I am ok with that right now.

That's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to call them and tell them my situation and see what they can do. I mean....I'm a single mom who had to humbly move in with her father just to afford daycare for crying out loud! My student loan debt is about to shoot up from $235 a month (cause one was on forbearance during pregnancy and the other 3 were on the extended graduated program) to $620 a month in just a few months. That's going to hurt. BAD.

I just didn't have a choice. XWH wouldn't sign forbearance forms and getting his name off of the loans would have caused an increase in my interest rates. I had to reduce the payments then because I had to endure 6 weeks without pay after having my daughter and BARELY made ends meet even after doing all of that! Luckily her sperm donor was giving me $200 willingly a month then "to make an effort" otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford food; before poofing on her at 4 months and me having to go through social services. Now I get a measley $65 a month because "he says" he is unemployed. But, I know he works under the table. Just pisses me off. UGH.

At least from your topic title, you can see a silver lining. Sometimes people are right when they tell us things do happen for a reason. And often, we do not realize that as quickly as you have.

I hope Babybeanz is loving her new daycare and you are happy knowing she is close by while you work. (And I bet your Dad is happy to have you both with him now.)

You know....I know my dad likes his solo time too...but I think he likes having someone to talk to at the end of the day... and I think he is going to bond with little miss much more now. They are already bonded....but I see it growing exponentially over the next few years!

You should apply for the income based repayment plan.
