This morning, my 2-yr-old and I woke up to the repeated circling of a low-flying helicopter. When I jumped on fb after breakfast, I noticed several other people in different areas of the county posting about hearing the same. This evening, the local newspaper released an article sharing that the sheriff's office and the FBI made 29 arrests connected to meth distribution. Several homes and businesses were involved. One of those homes was right behind my exH's house. My daughter is there this week. According to my ex, she slept through it and seems to be oblivious. I remember when they put that house in. I remember sitting one summer by the master bedroom window recording the traffic flow - license plates, make and model, time in/out - and reporting the suspicious traffic to the police. I'm so glad they kept their eye on this place and hope that the charges stick.

Glad they got them to stop the flow of that awful drug. And hope the neighborhood(s) are now safe.

It seems to be everywhere now. A couple with small children in the house were arrested for 'cooking' it at home and had a shed full of the ingredients in a rural community near me a while ago and there seem to be constant arrests in the area for making and distribution of it as well as growing and selling pot. A short time ago, the police evacuated several blocks next to my DS's house because there was an apartment house where one tenant had a meth lab that was in use as they closed in. Sheesh! Some of those places have exploded!

I hope the charges stick, too and they don't return to the area.

Finding what life could have been....... Why didn't I see it?

Yahoo!!!!

Hope they can keep away now.

It's a horrible thing, and I wish there was more that could be done to stop these people

I live in a rural area as well, and have some not so distant neighbors that I'm 99% sure are cooking. I hope they get caught soon.

These folks weren't cooking. Just distributing meth brought in from Mexico. Oh. And it wasn't the FBI, it was DHS. They haven't released a list of what was confiscated yesterday, but in the last calendar year, during the investigation, they had seized just over 5lbs of meth. The article this morning also says that there are other ongoing investigations. The ring leader has 6 prior felony charges, all of which were dismissed. I'm hoping that the federal charges he's facing this time are stickier than the state felonies he already got out of. Our entire area has about 50,000 people (my town is only 5,000 of that), so 29 arrests means pretty much everyone has a connection to one of these folks somehow. It's exciting, sad and scary all at the same time.
