Grown up packed lunch ideas

Hi everyone

I have a 12 hour day coming up which won't have a lot of time for food buying so I thought I would make my own.

Anybody got any SIMPLE but tasty ideas?
I won't have access to a fridge or a microwave so nothing that needs keeping cool (without freezer blocks) or re heating. Also, something that is easily storable as I will be on an exhibition stand most of the day.

I know you all have some fab ideas ( I've seen them before but can't find them right now!)

I've done quite a few trade shows where that is the problem. Apples and a small container of peanut butter. Granola bars with protein are good. Bottled water where half the bottles are frozen and half are refrigerated. That way as you get later in the day, the water will still be cold.

Quick and easy.

Peanut butter crackers. Frozen protein drinks, too. Maybe a small container of salsa or bean dip and chips.

The frozen water bottles can do double duty and keep sandwiches/salads cold until lunch too. I would try a bunch of snack items as well.. yoghurt, nuts, granola, cheese and crackers. Then you can munch whenever you get the urge.

Light tuna + quacamole with sliced peppers and crackers to dip. Just mix a little lime juice in when you make the guac/tuna and it won't brown, and pack it next to an ice pack.

And trail mix. Almonds go a long way for curbing hunger.

I pack lunch every day so forgive me if I go a little overboard with the ideas. :)

Homemade hummus wrap on a whole wheat chapati. I heat the chapati before putting on the spreadables: hummus and avocado, then some shredded lettuce a drizzle of salad dressing, wrap in wax paper and put in tupperware to carry.

Cherry tomatoes.

Sliced apples and sectioned oranges.

Homemade trail mix: raw walnuts, almonds, dark chocolate chips, dried cranberries and a few small bits of dried pineapple.

Small widemouth thermos with fried rice (caramelized onion, chopped fried egg, peas, what-have-you. Takes about five minutes to throw together in the morning if you have leftover rice.

Thermos of homemade veggie soup.

Thermos of tea.

I'm never hungry and never need a fridge or a microwave.

I often make my DD a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch. The night before (or several nights before), marinate some chicken breast cutlets. I thaw some Perdue individually wrapped chicken breasts and then marinate in lime, olive oil, salt, pepper, and chili powder. But use whatever you like. Then either grill or cook in a saute pan with some olive oil for 3 or so minutes each side. Refrigerate and then the next morning get a bun (I sometimes toast it) and some lettuce and whatever condiments and make a sandwich. My DD is a HS athlete and this keeps her full thru after school practice. And then also pack some fruit, other snacks, and water and you are good to go.

Yogurt with frozen berries. Berries keep the yogurt cold.

My kids went to a private school for a while where they didn't serve lunch--so we had to pack. If this is going to be a regular thing for you, I would recommend investing in an insulated soup cup--available at Target (nothing says Professional like Disney princesses!), and one of those new insulated lunch boxes. That way, all the good cold ideas shared here can be stretched out, and you can still have something warm to eat if that is important to you. This is just what has worked for us in the past.
