That is all.

I hate having to change every 6 months. We need to pick one time, and stick with it.

..spring forward.... fall back..

..losing that hour's sleep sucks, I know.

..and changing all those f'n clocks is a pain in the arse!

..does anybody really know what time it is?

Then there is the confusion when dealing with businesses that say their hours of operation are such-and-such 'standard time' even though they are in an area that observes daylight saving time.

Hours 9-5 Pacific Standard Time. If I call at 5:30 Pacific Daylight Time will they answer or not? I live life on the edge sometimes.

same here! Nothing like trying to get kids to bed on school nights while it's still daylight outside! Hate it, hate it, hate it!

*Sigh*; at least I can call my mom when I get home from work at midnight because it will only be 9pm in AZ.

me on the first morning of Springing forward..

The thing with DST is that unlike WW II, when it arguably saved resources, not the we have evidence that DST increases use of electricity and puts school kids at risk while they wait for busses in the dark.

We really need to make decisions about our communal lives based on evidence....

Undefinabl3 posted 3/10/2014 07:36 AM

As a mother who will have a child waiting for the bus soon, DST pisses me off because he will only get to wait for the bus in the light for about 2 weeks, and then its back to being in the dark....uggg...

I don't get it....who the fuck needs it to be light outside at 9:00pm?!?!

I kind of liked it this morning!! My dog gets up at 6:45 or so like clockwork and I go downstairs and let him out of the crate. Not this morning! It was 8am before he started asking to come out! Which is nice because it allowed me to get some things done before I was chasing him around to get back what he'd stolen, or giving him heck for counter surfing

StillGoing posted 3/10/2014 07:42 AM

Shit, I don't even see the point to time zones. It's not like it's the sun that's the artificial construct we have to get used to.

gonnabe2016 posted 3/10/2014 08:41 AM

DST-haters can always move to Arizona or that small part of Indiana that doesn't *do* DST. Just sayin'.

itainteasy posted 3/10/2014 12:08 PM

Add me to the hate list.

Now fall back is something I can behind. Can't we just fall back twice a year?

64fleet posted 3/10/2014 12:55 PM

It came about during WWII to save lamp oil, but I haven't seen anyone using oil lamps lately and outdoor lighting now usually uses an automatic eye to come on at a specific darkness, so time has no effect at all...someone has to be making money from it, IMO.

purplejacket4 posted 3/10/2014 13:49 PM

So I came into work today and my nurse asked me how the weekend was.

"It was the shortest weekend. EVER!" says I.

She says, "WEll, it was because of daylight saving time!"

wildbananas posted 3/10/2014 14:16 PM

Ugh, we were all running behind and cranky today. When I dropped BananaGirl14 off at school, she looked out the window and muttered "It looks like we're going to school at night."

We are not morning people.

tryingagain74 posted 3/10/2014 17:37 PM

I don't like it either. You'd think we sprang ahead eight hours by how tired I get and how many days it takes me to readjust. I do like the evening light lately, but I don't like how it makes me feel so off.

MissesJai posted 3/10/2014 17:44 PM

I fucking hate it.
