No more robo calls

Someone here mentioned nomorobo.com as a free service that intercepts robocalls. Even though it was only a week or so ago, I can't remember who that was.

I haven't received a robocall on my home phone since I joined up the night I saw it mentioned. Yesterday I finally put it on my business phone.

It's only been a week, but it seems awfully good.

Thanks to whoever recommended it.

I have no connection with the company except as a user.

That's great news! Enjoy your peace and quiet...and know that I'm very jealous! We've already had two robots call this morning - and it's a little past lunch.

I wish there was a nomorobo dot com for Canadians.

Naturally, just after I posted this, I got a robocall.

Election Tuesday - are political calls unstoppable? Anything else, like calls on behalf of 'charities' (that pay 40% of the take to their callers)?

Not complaining about nomorobo, just askin'.

Political calls are unstoppable. Also, from what I can tell, charity calls are unstoppable.

When I get these calls on my cell, I add the # to contacts with a ringtone on *no ring*. They still come in, but I am in blissful ignorance until I see my missed call log.

I think it was TrulyReconciled who recommended that site. I looked at it but didn't sign on because it asked a couple of things I didn't want to give (email address being one of them, I think). Sisoon, I'm glad it worked for you!

Lucky, that is brilliant!

I have an email address setup just for online sites and stores. I call it my spam address, because (not surprisingly) that's the email address that gets 99.9% of all my spam.

Try it! My regular (real) email address is blissfully spam free!

Another great idea!!!

Well, if we can't be at the Houston g2g at least we can all be here coming up with brilliant ideas, can't we?

Yep and set it up on gmail or yahoo or aol or some other free internet site (not your isp provider).

authenticnow posted 3/15/2014 16:49 PM

And so the ones that I already have on my primary email....I can just change my contact information with them, correct? Would I do that with the unsubscribe option?

Lucky2HaveMe posted 3/15/2014 16:51 PM

Well phooey - Verizon isn't supported. Just hope I don't run out of contact space!

Definitely this. I have a Yahoo account for this.

Yes, you should be able to just login to the site and update your contact info with the new email address.

Thanks!

Waving at sisoon and apologies for the t/j!
