Okay, last night was great. My trio hadn't had much time to practice, so I invited them over for the afternoon to spit-polish things a little. We worked for about three hours, went out for dinner, and then made our way to the gig. We were one of three bands playing.

The first band was VERY polished. They have obviously practiced their arses off. Then we got up there to do our thing. For about the first song-and-a-half, it was a little nerve-wracking, then we just found our groove and had fun. Our last song of the night, Plastic Jesus ("I don't care if it rains or freezes, long as I got my plastic Jesus, riding on the dashboard of my car", definitely not a gospel song), had people shouting, clapping, and singing along.

Then the last band went on, and they were also very polished. That had me worried again.

People were coming up to me afterward, shaking my hand, sometimes HUGGING me, telling me that we looked to be having the most fun up there. Not that it's a competition or anything, but that was nice to hear. I also had a few people I know telling me that they didn't know I could "play like that".

It was very cool.

That's great, Pass! Sounds like a whole lot of fun.

So good! Wish I could have been there.

I remember one time, about 15 years ago now, playing out and the house band joined us, people were dancing, what a blast. People enjoying what you create, the best feeling.

This is nice to hear. Adds to the proof that life is what YOU make it.

Music is a fabulous outlet for the soul. Glad it went well! And the audience loved it...no better validation for an artist. Good job!

Thanks, y'all. I already had fun practicing in my living room. Playing it for a receptive audience was the icing on the cake.

Well, okay, it was a pretty kickass icing!
