I have had a Upper Respiratory thing now going on at least 6 weeks now... I have taken Mucinex for the chest and Zyrtec during the day for the nasal congestion and Benadryl at night...

I have a very chesty barky kinda cough.

I have a very slight temp... if you can call 99.6 a temp. I usually run below 98.6 when I'm healthy... so I feel crappy.

This is just not going away...

jrc, you may have an infection that needs the help of an antibiotic to clear up. If you have had it that long and are running a slightly higher temp, I would see a doctor.

I second Dr. PJ, if your Dr's office does not have the ability to do a chest Xray, you may be better off going to an UC to they can check if you have a pneumonia.

The respiratory bugs this winter seem to create a lingering cough, reactive airway syndrome, and while you may not need antibiotics, you may need an inhaler or steroids to get you over the hump.

Good luck.

I am going today at 3pm.... I guess she'll take a listen and decide if I need xrays... I hope not.

I was thinking inhaler too... I got winded today just doing a few light chores and taking a shower.

I'm back from the Drs.

Dx - Bronchitis...

Rx - Zpak, Predinsone and inhaler...

Haven't picked up the meds yet because the Pharmacy at Wal-mart is super slow.... so I'm waiting a few hours to go in.
