Court is at 4 this afternoon, and I'm, frankly, a basket case right now. STBXWH is downstairs cleaning. I hear him rattling things. I can't work up the nerve to care, or go down to his stupid music. Where did my life go so askew that it is now in the hands of some judge that I don't even know???

Argh. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the day. I know by the time court rolls around, I'm going to have my bitch boots on, and I've promised myself to not get rattled, or drawn into conversations without my L present at the court house. I've read the other threads concerning L's, conversations in the hallways, etc. Not going there.

Thanks for listening. It does help to type this out.

You are Strong, you are a woman of strength! We will be with you there in spirit. Go look in the mirror and look at the wonderful woman looking back! You did not do this, you were everything you were suppose to be and God knows that and see that.

You will be okay, and I can understand what you may be feeling. Remember - You are strong and you are done taking shit from someone who treated you horribly.

Some days just suck. No matter how court goes today, it was going to be a tough day. You will come out the other side of this OK.

Just ignore STBX today. Focus on you and getting what you need.

Good luck in court today and don't be too discouraged on the job front. I can't even say how many jobs I haven't gotten after interviewing/applying...literally dozens. Something that is right for you WILL come along.

My son in law once walked into an office and asked if he could work there for no pay. He said if they were pleased with his work at the end of two weeks, would they consider offering him a position. They said yes and 2 weeks later he was hired. Four years later he became VP of marketing.

We once had a young woman come into our office asking if she could be a volunteer intern in our office and possibly help with stocking supplies and other menial things. She only came in once a week, but within 2 months, she was offered a part time job. After a year, she was offered a management position at a satellite office.

These are desperate measures, but they can work. It shows employers you have initiative and motivation.

Good luck with court today.

Thank you everyone. I get to move and take the furniture that I have inherited with me. The temporary custody went through and I can live with it.

Now, on to my moving project and then job hunting full time.

I'm glad it's over with and that the result seems good! Sending you job and apartment search mojo....
