I have decided to start graduate school and get my masters in accounting, and CPA. I'll start off part-time taking classes on-line.

I always wanted to continue my education, but the need to earn a living, letting STBXH get his Bachelor's, being a SAHM and a lack of support put the whole thing on hold.

I don't care if I am in my 40s, and it's late to be starting a career. I want to do this for me.

Oh yes! Please do this if you want/need to do it. Believe me, being in your 40s is very young. I wish I had followed my dreams back then instead of deciding I was "too old"

I love the accounting profession. It's what God meant for me to do in life - I hope you feel the same.

You go, Gemini71. Sounds like an awesome plan.

I went back to graduate school at the age of almost 43 and graduated at age 45 with my MLIS. I've been in my second career for 9 years now (I'm almost 54 now) and I am SO SO SO glad I went back & got the graduate degree. It is absolutely the best thing I ever did for myself, and has paid off time and time and time again.

Congratulations and keep us updated !!

Good for you!

You should get some pretty good financial aid also I would imagine.

Because we filed joint this year, I have to include his income on my FAFSA, but I can get Gov't Loans.

It also occurred to me, that I worked while he finished his Bachelor's Degree and paid off a lot of his student loans. Maybe I can ask for him to return the favor and pay half my tuition? Even if it doesn't make difference, I can still do it the old fashioned way.
