In Dec 2012 I was going to the company Christmas party as a third wheel. A work friend and her husband were going and offered to drive, I said screw it and went. On the ride there they were playing Bob Seagers Greatest CD. I forget why, but we got off the freeway and took a side street. This side street just happened to be the one that she lived on and we drove past her apartment complex that night with Bob Seagar playing and those two in the front seat singing away being all festive and shit, while I stared out the window looking for my BFs car. No, they didn't know my whole story or what that moment did to me, so it's not like the detour was purposeful, just really weird since I was supposed to be getting out of the house to have fun and all I really wanted to do in that moment was to tell them to drive in the complex so I could look around. I still wonder what I would've found, but I didn't say a word and they kept driving while blaring Bob Seagar. Fast forward to today, I'm in a good mood on the way back from a long day and of course Bob Seagar Night moves begins to play on the radio. I thought briefly about the view that night from the back seat and then pushed the memory out. This will not get to me, I started singing along. By the end of the song I was laughing, but the biggest chuckle came from the song that started playing next, Louis Armstring - What a Wonderful World. Yes ladies and gentleman, one day the sun will begin to shine and it will be a wonderful world.
