I need a vacation

My brain is completely shutting down. I'm overwhelmed, can't focus, and more things keep piling on to my to do list.

I don't even have kids yet! Isn't this supposed to be the easy phase of my life?

Yesterday I microwaved an empty mug for tea. Today isn't shaping up much better, things that normally take me 30 seconds are taking me 5 minutes to get done.

My diet and sleep schedule are fine. Anything else I can do?

Take a vacation. Stat. Meta's orders.

I hear you. I'd really like one. I absolutely can not wait until it's cottage season. And I do have kids and no, it doesn't get any easier sadly.

Do you have some extra moolah? Sometimes a massage can be like a 2 hour vacation.

No extra cash at the moment. Both myself and my 16 year old cat need dental work.

My sister did go to massage school though and she has me helping her bake a cake and move the next few days. A trade might be in order!

A staycation is always nice. Take a couple days off from work -- a Friday and Monday to make a long weekend and just veg with a good book or some funny movies. Or a sitcom marathon. You need a chance to recharge those batteries and level set yourself.

Twice in the past month I started up my Kurig without a cup underneath. I had the thing for over a year and never once have I done that.

I found that I have too many things on my mind and am feeling very overwhelmed. Even the most mindless of tasks, the things I do every single day without thought because they are so routine, are being messed up.

The other day I left the house without brushing my teeth and this morning I almost forgot to put on my jewelry.

It feels like you are losing your mind, doesn't it? In a way, I think we are sometimes. But we can get it back!

Take some me time.

I find that about every other month I need a total veg day. Either a weekend day or I call in "sick." And I sit in my bed and watch crap. I do nothing for nobody. It totally helps recharge my batteries.

It really does! I think if I can hang in until next week I'll be ok.

My sister is moving out Saturday, then SO has friends coming into town for a 30th b-day that night, house is going to be a complete wreck and I don't care. Another b-day party on Sunday, then it should all calm down. SO is going out of town for 4 days on Thursday. I'll have the house to myself for the first time in a year! It will be glorious.

I really, really want to do this, but I have to schedule some oral surgery soon and don't want to take off too much time. So for now I'm looking forward to a day off to have wisdom teeth out. Something is definitely wrong with me.

Crescita, you look kinda "sick".
You should take a day or two off (especially if you get paid sick days).
