Picture it. Coming up on dinnertime. A drizzly afternoon. I decide to go to the mall. Because of the drizzle I put on my new, super cute rain boots. I think I'm looking pretty good. Walk into the mall and....
trip over the damned rain mat they have just inside the door. No worries, though. I broke my fall by running into the other door. With my face. The poor guy on the other side of the door had NO idea what to do, so he does what any self-respecting person does when up against smooshed face on glass: avoids eye contact and quickly walks away.
Geez! I thought I was gonna make it through one winter without falling down. I almost did, too; there's barely any snow left on the ground. Maybe next year...

I laughed so hard at this. (Please don't take that the wrong way.) I can absolutely see myself in this same position. I swear any time I think I'm looking good and strutting my stuff, the world has to put me in my place. Lol
I hope you're okay and were able to laugh it off. Maybe treat yourself to some frozen yogurt at the food court.

((((bluelady)))) I'm glad you have a sense of humor about it. Hope you don't turn up black and blue tomorrow.

Sorry you fell, but I actually lol'd at this!
The poor guy on the other side of the door had NO idea what to do, so he does what any self-respecting person does when up against smooshed face on glass: avoids eye contact and quickly walks away.
Hope tomorrow is a better day!

You are a kindred spirit. I am constantly tripping, falling down, running into things, and geing a general all around klutz.
Sorry you fell and hope your dignity was the worst thing that was hurt.

Another kindred spirit here, so I commiserate as I snickered. I have had so many falls, my daughter is insisting on a brain scan to see if I conk out briefly!
The last time, I was dressed rather jauntily (I thought) and was strutting my stuff up a school driveway on my way to vote in a local election. Tripped over a speed bump--yep, a speed bump-- and went down like a tower of spaghetti cans! Luckily someone saw me fall, called the paramedics and rushed out to help. And equally luckily no one drove over me! The returning officer came out with a ballot box and as the hot paramedics were checking me out, I voted lying bleeding on the ground. I sported a black eye for weeks. I do this so often, my S/O is afraid he's getting a reputation for spousal assault.

The worst part (to me) is when people come over and over commiseration and help. I appreciate it from an abstract perspective (kindness of strangers), but I just want to tell them to leave me to my shame in peace!!
Sit. Feast on your life.

I would have helped ya up bluelady! At least it wasn't in a store with 10,000 of cologne to crash into!
Everybody has those moments. You could have jumped up and said, "I was merely acting!"
