What the hell do I wear to a 4pm first date at a cool local restaurant on a Saturday??
That is too late for the "super cute casual" lunch date and too early to pull off heels and something slightly sexy. We could be the only peeps at the restaurant that early and I don't want to appear hookerish or desperate-ish. This was the only time we could figure out how to meet between our schedules.
This dude is tall, 6"3 to my 5"3, so I was thinking heels…but…no…not to a 4pm "drink" date.
Its going to be warm. Maybe a kinda casual dress with wedge sandals? I look best in jeans or pants with heels, but that just doesn't feel right to a 4pm drink date.
Crap.

I think wedges are perfect. I always feel good in those, no matter what time of day I am out and about.

I think a dress and sandals (wedge or heels) would look great.
Nothing super tight or low-cut if you want to avoid the hooker vibe :) (I know you know that already!)

Yeah…but my legs are beached whale white right now and I don't do spray tans. I will be outside most of Saturday morning, so maybe they will have some color by then?
That is the only other snafoo.

You are beautiful and fabulous. My legs are glowing in the dark right now, so I get it.
Several of my guy friends have told me that, especially in the beginning of the season, they're just so happy to see ladies' legs again they don't even notice the color :)

Maybe some nice jeans with wedge heels and a pretty top?

Think of it like meeting a potential new friend. Plan on at least 45 minutes. The rest decide after but the time suggests a drink and if things are going well appetizers/dinner.
Have fun! I like the jeans and light top. You can look at the menu online and get an idea of the dress or the pictures of the place.
Enjoy!

Oh, I know the place well. We live close to each other, and this is the most recent "cool restaurant" to go to. I've taken several dates there
Where I go for girls nights, etc.
I can't drink without eating something. I'll have to eat.
Hmmm….jeans with wedges…maybe white jeans, navy top with brown wedges…sparkly jewelry…?

Just so you know, when it comes to dating, there are *distinct* advantages to glowing in the dark

Do you have boots/booties with a slight heel? More casual than heels, kickier than flats. Though a cute ballet flat is always nice.

Girl, you are TOTALLY allowed to wear heels! I'll wear heels anywhere, anytime. You can rock some awesome heels under a pair of jeans... dressed up without being to obvious!

I'm jealous that heels are a good option for your height! I'm 5'7" so heels depend on who I'm dating because I feel weird being taller or even same height.

I've worn heels to brunch with my kids. Just little casual 2.5" peeptoe ones.... I like the air quality at 5'9" and I can only do that in 2.5" heels.
I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

I don't own flats. I always wear heels. I'd probably do jeans, tank top, and cover up with heels.

I almost always wear a sleight heel, either my Frye boots or small wedge shoes…but I also have flats.
But my HEELS are for date night, black 3.5 inch stiletto type heels. I do have nice wedge brown sandals I think I'm going to wear, its more "me".
Overall, I am a cute but casual dresser. Think J Crew or Boden. Those are my go-to clothing lines. So I want to be "me" and comfortable.
Being 5"3, I can almost always wear heels, but I haven't dated 6"3-6"4 since college. My ex and exSO were 6"0. Sometimes I just like wearing flats. I'm tiny, and some guys really like short girls.
He is a nice guy, but I'm not sure this is going anywhere. He admits to having ADD and I'm not so sure I'm willing to deal with that…again. Keeping open and just going to have fun.

I understand-I'm 5'9"
I love being tall but wearing heels does require some thought
