Reminisce or ? ws response welcomed

While I have been reading today's posts a word hit me out of the blue. Reminise! meaning to remember, remember with pleasure, cast one's mind back to, look back on, be nostalgic about, recall, recollect, reflect on, call to mind. I wondered how it fit into my journey here and in my M.

I do from time to time reminisce about past experiences between FWH and me. They continue to be pleasurable until I am hit with abrupt realization of current status and what caused it.

I then started thinking about the opposite to the word. Hmmmm... funny I found the antonyms for reminisce were; disregard, ignore, neglect, repress,and forget. All of the things my FWH did when he was lost in his A world.

My question is this. Since feelings seem to have taken precedence over the mind, does the mind trick the feelings by mis-identifing them?

I think the mind will focus on the memories that reinforce the feelings. Rarely does the mind take the total experience into account.
