So the morning after D-Day I contacted AP's BH and the four of us ended up meeting at a local park that morning. Since then I have had a hard time driving past that park and will take other streets to avoid it. Well, last week fWH and I planned a lunch date today (since being in R, we started going to the gym together 3-4 times per week as well as having a lunch date 1-2 times per week). On Friday I detoured and decided it was stupid and I needed to do something about it. I decided to take the park back and that's what we did today.

Sometimes I meet him and sometimes I pick him up so I made sure he knew I was picking him up. What he didn't know when I picked him up was that I had a picnic lunch packed for us. I purchased one of those cute little picnic baskets over the weekend and hit the grocery store before the gym this morning for things to pack it with. I took a table cloth, goodies for sandwiches, sides, drinks, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. I also took a deck of cards and our Cribbage board for us to play. We used to play a lot before the kids, so it was really fun to break that out again. He was moved...he was grateful and tearful for the surprise! Today we reclaimed that park!

Since D-day part of me has been mad that I knew the truth was that I would have to be the one (for the most part) to have to jump through hoops and make changes to get him to want me to stay with me. Yes, I've made changes, but in reality we both have. And I do have to say, we've sure had some fun little things along the way to falling in love again and restoring and making our marriage was surely one of them! Now to figure out what to reclaim next and what fun way to do it in!!!

Good for YOU!

Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.
