I have a company-issued cell phone (iPhone) and need to turn it in on Friday (my last day), so I'm shopping for a new one.

I'm kind of thinking Android... what do you like and why?

I'm also told the two big carriers in the area I'm moving to are Sprint and Verizon. Any advice on either of those?

I have a samsung galaxy s4. I like it. The s5 just came out (earlier this week?). I got my phone around Christmas time. Best Buy was having a sale $50 for the phone and no activation fee. I couldn't decide between an Android or the iPhone. The people at the phone store (Verizon) told me that the galaxy is the best Android and the iPhone is just as good. It's a matter of personal preference. When the sale came around, I couldn't pass up the deal. I was worried that the galaxy would be too big since the screen is larger than my previous HTC thunderbolt, but I haven't had any problems with it.

I'd choose Verizon over Sprint, but I've always had Verizon. Is there any way to talk with people who live where you're moving to see if there's a difference as far as signals/dropped calls?

I just moved from an S2 to an S4, and from Sprint to Verizon. I find the that Verizon service in my area is better than the Sprint service, and I like the S4. The battery life is a lot better than the S2.

The main thing I like about the S2/S4 is the size. It's bigger which makes it easier for me to hold and to read on. For some the size can be a negative

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 still and really like it. (Verizon)My 21 yr old daughter has the same phone and likes hers too. I will say, with 5 phones on our plan Verizon is expensive! Our bill is close to $400 a month with 8g of shared data. However, in our area Verizon has the best coverage/reception.

My husband loves his S4. I have the iPhone 5 and love it. I use a Macbook Pro though so for me it's all about being familiar with the OS. I can't argue that his is the better phone in quite a few areas, I just like mine

Galaxy S4 mini! Fits in your hand much better than the regular size.

I just got a Galaxy S4 last month. I really like it. I too smashed the screen on my last smartphone right before I was due for an upgrade. I had planned on doing some research and possibly holding off for a bit, but smashing the screen made that decision for me. They were offering a ton of deals and incentives with the s4 in anticipation for the release of the s5, so I got a great deal on a great phone. Definitely go with an Android (just mho)

Galaxy S5!!! I have had all the galaxy's and I guarantee you won't be disappointed! It has way more to offer than the iphone that's for sure!

Also, if you go with Verizon, they are offering buy one get one free on the Galaxy S5! Although the second phone has to go to someone on your cell phone plan.
