I thought it would be neat to share what we all do for fun. IDK if this kind of thread has been done in the past but it has been a while so maybe it's time for an update. I'll go first.

My hobbies are sailing and running.

I need to get back into regular running. I get started and then drop off. I have noticed that running keeps depression at bay and helps increase my energy so I really want to be running at least every other day.

Yesterday we had race #2 of our weekly Wednesday sailing races. A fun evening on the water is always a good thing. And even at only 5 mph the competition can be quite fierce.

This is during the starting sequence before last night's race.

That looks like more than 5 mph (or knots)winds, gahurts. And it looks like wicked fun.

My hobbies are walking (can't run, blew my knees years ago), reading voraciously, and painting.

My two favorite Hobbies are Fishing, and Beekeeping. The second of which has turned into a small business.

I also enjoy gardening, and reading.

Lynn, I love your art!

I have started learning glasswork.
Fusing and beadmaking, maybe will try glassblowing.

I love it.

I have always loved glass art, was blown away when I went to the Chihuly Museum in Seattle.

I have had a few intro classes and really would love to set up a studio. I was going to wait to see it I was any good at it but then decided I don't care, I enjoy it and whether I produce crap or art it is the process I love.

Kajem, I forgot the gardening because I haven't had space for a real garden for many years. With the purchase of 2.6 acres in the country, I can have as much garden as I like. I'm getting someone in soon to rototill a 20' x 15' patch, and will plant asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, raspberries, currants, as well as the usual annual suspects (peas, beans, peppers, onions, garlic, lettuce of various kinds, spinach, beets, carrots, potatoes, maybe a small melon patch). The granddaughters already planted some beans and radishes in my flower garden!

I've been quilting for a long time. I also do some craft sewing - bags, aprons, home decor items, etc.

My brother and I have picked up our mom's love of genealogy, and we've been working together to pull all her notes, photos, and documents into a digital family tree. It's fascinating stuff, and I've been known to lose myself in it for HOURS.

I read voraciously, knit, crochet, sew, and have just started wire wrapped jewelry making.
I've also been easing my way back into sketching and water-colors, something I enjoyed as a teen.

I write, read, and I think I'm going to get into painting again--after having a blast at Cocktails & Colors I really want to hold a brush on a regular basis again.

I also like to garden, walk the dog, and take nature/landscape type photos.

simplydevastated posted 4/24/2014 11:25 AM

My hobby is scrapbooking and making cards. I haven't worked on it in a while (hard to look at pictures). I also love to write and read. I would love to go hiking again, I haven't been since I was a kid. I want to try and take my kids fishing more this summer. We'll see.

I'll post pics when photobucket applies the changes. Ugh.

Hobbies I've had in the past that I'd like to get back into this summer are: home brewing, playing guitar, martial arts, mountain biking, hiking, fishing.

Currently my biggest hobbies are reading and getting my new garden started up. I also like to walk with my dogs every day.

Williesmom posted 4/24/2014 12:08 PM

I read, walk, and spend a LOT of time with my dogs. Yardwork, flea markets, and antiques are my summer activities of choice.

Lord, how I love a good flea market! My favorite thing about winter ending is the start of flea market season.

Hiking (and snow shoeing in the winter), birding, any and all needlecrafts and beading. I'm thinking of adding soap-making, beer brewing and bread making

I thought the title of this tread was Hobbits

But I guess it fits though, my hobbies include eating, smoking, playing and going on adventures.

I like reading. It's been my favorite hobby since I was a child.

I've always wanted to learn to quilt. Perhaps this is something I should finally look into.

In the past I liked to cross stitch but for some reason I get to a certain point and put the project down unfinished. I hate that I do that!
