Thank you.
We acknowledge and honour our veterans here in Canada on Remembrance Day, November 11th.
It's nice to be reminded of our Commonwealth connections and holidays.
....Do you wear poppies like us?

Hi Looking Forward, we do wear poppies but mainly on Remembrance Day which we also observe, it's more traditional for us to wear sprigs of rosemary on ANZAC Day for remembrance.
I'm in the Australian military and am now working overseas, it's really hard to be away from home on this day so your post meant allot Want To Wake Up
We make our own fortunes and call them fate, and what better excuse to choose a path then to insist it's our destiny.

Hi Looking forward, Canadian troops also landed at Gallipoli with our boys.
Is the f*cking you're getting, worth the f*cking you're getting?

I am from an Army family. ANZAC is a very important day on our calendar.

It certainly is looking forward, must be why I like Canadians so much LOL
Nolight♥... thank you for your service, it is appreciated by so many.
Canadian troops also landed at Gallipoli with our boys.
Yep, another reason to like Canadians♥
Bluebird, I think ANZAC Day should be important to every Aussie and Kiwi... forever.
Despite attempts by the march organisers here to prevent descendants marching, they still march... proudly wearing their relatives medals.
This year they tried to stop them marching under their individual unit banner... that idiotic decision lasted less than a day before public opinion forced them to overturned it!
As long as their are people who remember men like my late Dad, a WW2 veteran, and the sacrifices made by men and women like Nolight, the March will continue... and the ANZAC spirit will live on.
07/06/1915 - 24/04/2007
Miss you Dad♥ today most of all.

One of the loveliest parts of the march is the descendants proudly marching in memory of their loved ones.

If you copy & paste this YouTube link, I think you will appreciate this Canadian's tribute.
The song's title is A Pittance of Time by Terry Kelly.
What a reminder!!
I played it on video to all of my music and library students.

I loved the photos in the news of William and Kate showing up for a dawn service. With him being a (former) military member, it would have been unspeakable had they not gone.
Glad you posted this, Want To Wake Up.
