Ranting for a moment.

So, I'm online, reading an article about divorce and pre/post nuptials, and there is a link at the bottom with the title "Reasons why married cheaters wind up divorced". I click on it, out of curiosity and read a very insipid, ignorant article stating 7 reasons why your cheating spouse will wind up divorced because of their actions. It was hardly insightful, and had nothing but "well, duh" moments at the end of each reason.

What pissed me off was, at the bottom of the article where you could leave a comment about what you read, were a few ads to "promote" the site and articles page. And they were ads for cheating websites. WTF!?! "Want an Affair?" "Promiscuous?" "Married Cheating?" Seriously? That is what you want to promote for a "married.anwsers" website? Promoting cheating websites to a spouse looking for answers about their marriage, legal or not, seems perfectly normal to them? I guess, since you are reading about why cheaters divorce, that would be your natural choice? Zero sense.

I just get fed up with how the media, movies, songs and the internet view infidelity. I guess I am just old fashioned and simply believe that when you make a promise, religious or not, that it actually means something, and you do everything possible to keep that oath.

I know that those things don't make a person cheat, but it sure can help them to rationalize it. Just fed up with the BullShit today, in any and all forms.

End Of Rant! Carry on with you day.

I totally agree!!

I view cheating as a public health hazard (think national blood supply) and a drain on the economy (think broken homes, increased need for psychological care, lost work days, and on an on). It's no trifling thing, even if you somehow manage to look beyond the emotional devastation.

I've never gone to any cheating site, and only here did I learn what Ash... mad.... Is. But. You know ,just know, that some bastard has found a way to make money off of desires to cheat. Back in the day, these people were called pimps and madams, and were not exactly respectable. Now, I guess they are internet entrepreneurs if not relationship experts on cable tv.

Are RedRaven and Raven related?

My WH used Ash Mad - he told me a little about the women he talked with before finding the OW he's with now - he was astonished about how long some of these women were on this site, living married lives, but finding happiness outside of the marriage - for decades - some of them the husbands approved, most secret. He claimed he met some that just wanted conversation, no physical - that would have been better than what he ended with, but there are all sorts on there.

It just makes my jaw drop - it's so out of my mind to even think of straying away from a marriage. As all of us here agree, YELL AND SCREAM for counseling, end the marriage, but do not cheat and hurt the person you have built a life with - no matter what the issues are. It's so mind-boggling to try to comprehend.

And shame on that site for running that ad - that makes me sick. I can't even open my spam email folder anymore - all the sites cluttering it up.

Schadenfreude: Nope, just a cute coincidence. :)

Acer0112: I agree! A site promoting help and advice for marriage and their ads come from crappy, sleazy cheating sites!?! It just blows my mind.
