The other night, my 21 month old daughter and I were sitting on the front porch of my dad's house watching a thunderstorm.....with torrential rain....it was beautiful and very peaceful...

Me: "What's that?"
Piper: ::GASP::
Me: "Do you hear that sound?"
Piper: "Sound. I heard it!"
Me: "Its Thunder!"
Piper: ::GASP::
Me: "Do you wanna go back inside?"
Piper:.... "Nooooooo"

That's my brave girl!

Then last night....she was asking for her sippy cup and I went to hand it back to her and wasn't looking at her because I was looking at the road and she wouldn't take her cup.....and when I stopped at a traffic light, I looked back and she had her favorite stuffed animal in her lap and was hopping him up and down making him dance to that new song called "Happy" by Pharrell Williams! It made me smile.... the simplest things in life make our children happy. They revel in every moment....every experience. It was so neat to hear thunder and experience that new sound with her for the 1st time and watch her big brown eyes light up with wonder......

I love her so much!

That's so sweet, Shelly. That is such a delightful, wonderful age.

Last night I got home late and my 18 yo dd was in my bed watching TV. She announces, "do you want my good news, my good good news, my good good good news, or my good good good good news first!?" I love every minute I have with her and how she still wants and needs to share with me all that is important to her.

I love her so much!

"do you want my good news, my good good news, my good good good news, or my good good good good news first!?"
