Tomorrow I'm going with some others for mani/pedis. I was convinced to add the pedi part for the first time. I really do not like people to do things to my feet, so I'm REALLY apprehensive, to say the least!

Since Moo is THE SI pedi pro, I thought he might have some advice for a novice (virgin?? ) like me. Any advice or suggestions from Moo or anyone?

Jrazz posted 5/15/2014 13:39 PM

I can give you some advice from the chick side of the fence while we wait for Moo to bring his expertise.

Shave your legs THAT morning. If there's anything going on down there at all, no matter how trace, you will observe much smack being talked about the state of your stems.

LOVE this thread!!! Moo Brudder, you're never gonna live this down.

First off. Resist fight and maybe the pedi posse will pay for yours. Shaving legs? Never did it. Colored toes aren't for me.

Apparently not. Still small pockets of wimmenz that think I need to keep doing this.

Echoing jrazz's suggestion.

Also, if your feet are super ticklish...fasten your seatbelt!

But seriously, the massage is awesome! They do your feet and legs...

Oh but they are.

Oh yeah! I'm wicked ticklish. So I warn them. "I'm super ticklish. Treat me like a feather and your teeth may get kicked out. Man handle my feet, thankyouverymuch."

Unagie posted 5/15/2014 14:23 PM

Oh when they scrub the bottom of your feet with the brush I kick lol.

Oh god, where are my friggin Depends when I need them?

Thanks everyone. I knew where to come for the real scoop! I hadn't thought about shaving in relation to that. Should have, tho. I was hoping they would only touch my toes. Can't believe Moo didn't take your advice!

I'll have to use that line too!!
Sounds like a winner!

Hey, Moo Honey, you know it's all in fun and we all love you for "taking one for the cause". Well, more than one, but you know what I mean. Just couldn't help involving you when I had just seen Aubrie's posts of your toes when this came up for me.

edited for a typo.

Oh I see how it is. Just don't bribe aubrie to see the other pictures.

thebighurt posted 5/15/2014 17:38 PM

HEY AUBRIE!!!!!!!!! How much will it cost???

Aubrie posted 5/16/2014 09:49 AM

Sending you a PM Darlin'.

MovingUpward posted 5/16/2014 11:13 AM

Hey now! I told you not to do that.

Aubrie posted 5/16/2014 11:16 AM

Too late.

ButterflyGirl posted 5/16/2014 13:16 PM

I'm ticklish and have been known to kick too

But I shave the night before, just to heal any small nicks or anything. You don't want gorilla legs, but fairly smooth is just fine.

More advice? Wear open-toed sandals and shorts (or pants if you can pull them a few inches above the knee, and GET THE MASSAGE. SPEND EXTRA IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT!!

There's wraps, hot stones, special scrubs, all kinds of fun stuff. And the real men I know join me, BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME

thebighurt posted 5/16/2014 13:29 PM

Hey, I survived my pedi!! Wasn't so bad because the technician heard the others mention how squeamish I am and was very careful not to get kicked. He mentioned it before I could. Thanks for the tips, everyone.

Hey Moo, you should know by now that we take that kind of statement as a challenge! Luckily I got a good tax refund recently.

Butterflygirl, the sandals were mentioned to me before we left, thankfully. And we did only the basics for two reasons: time constraints and the fact that it's a resort and already expensive enough. Mostly, it was the time, tho (and I didn't know to ask for any add-ons but I will next time ).

I think I will do it again!

challenge schmallenge

At least you're not dragging me for more.

Shave your legs THAT morning.

You actually should shave no closer than 24 hours ahead of time, as shaving leaves open/exposed hair follicles that are MUCH more prone to infection if the place makes ANY mistake in sanitation. Seriously, stop doing this - your health is more important than having a little stubble the day of.
