I think I spend so much time alone these days that I am EXTRA amazed as stupid things people say & do...

This weekend, I was part of a conversation where an acquaintance of mine said something about her ex-husband. The man she was talking to said "Ex-husband? What'd you do?" Then he chuckled an evil little laugh.

It took everything I had not to punch him in the throat. Not really...I'm not a violent person, but JEEZ. Why on earth would he assume SHE did something to make him her ex?

I know. I'm being too sensitive. Luckily, I was in a place where I could just walk away.

I know...some days I wonder why I even come out of my cocoon.

The older I get, the more amazed I am at how stupid and insensitive people can be. Even with my great, core group of friends - every once in a while one of them will bust out with some stupid nugget and I'll think, "WTF??"

If I was talking to that guy, I would have turned around and walked without saying another word. He sounds like a chauvinistic douche nozzle, to say the least.

Sure they think. People like this think they're hilarious. The more hurtful/provoking/shocking they are, the funnier it is.

Douche nozzles.

She should have responded with, "I had to divorce him. He started reminding me of you." Then walked away. Doofus.

Hah! I was thinking the same thing, Doofus!

I probably would have responded with the first thing that popped into my head, "Her IQ increased."

Then probably have given an even more evil laugh and then snear at the douche.

Hmm. I wonder why I haven't had a date in a while.

I had one of those moments today too - it was "Bring Your Child to Work" day in my office, and there were like 60 munchkins running around. Someone asked if I was volunteering at any of the events they had set up for the kids, and I said that, no, I'm not really a kid person. And then she said...

"Oh, is that why you're divorced?"
