The universe has a funny sense of humor. About a month ago, my car (very well known to the AP and her family) died while my husband was driving it to work. It happened to fail right at the crossroads of the street her house is on and a main thoroughfare. H had to leave it there on the side of the road, which virtually ensured that she rounded the corner from her house to take the kids to school in the morning and faced -- my car. Talk about a heart punch! Karma 1 = AP 0
AP teaches classes occasionally at the local gym. My heart sank when I saw she was teaching a new class, as I knew it was a boost to her tiny little ego. They keep a tally of the attendance of the classes on the equipment door, and over the past months I have seen her class at an all-time high of 5 (one of which was her husband, and one a friend) to 3 to 2 to. . . no class. Class cancelled due to lack of interest. Karma 2 - AP 0
Finally, our minister is leaving, and for a going-away party, I got a request to "man" the AP's chocolate fountain from an unsuspecting congregation member. I had to laugh out loud at that one. . .sure, I'll sit and make sure APs chocolate fountain works properly.
Anyway, I declined, another friend (who knows about the affair) was asked (she declined) and finally they must've found someone to do it. It was there today, and worked a grand total of 5 minutes, maybe. The cheap-ass chocolate seized up, and was a gloppy mess. A total PITA for the people helping. The kids were sad, but Karma 3 - AP still 0.
I wish I were a bigger person and that these things didn't make me happy. . .but, I guess I am entitled to a little Schadenfreude.
OTOH, my H is in line for a big promotion. I don't know what is up with that, only that maybe his totally getting his sh&t together after dday, and manning up and being a good husband, may be paying off. The AP has been a self-serving, narcissistic wench since dday. . .so maybe it isn't just the mistakes we make, but what we choose to do afterwards that matters. I am not going to get cocky, though. I am sure the OBS would like some karma action of his own.

This is it. The darkest day. The blackest hour. Chin up, shoulders back. Let's see what we're made of, you and I.

I think on the bigger scale it's nice to see this so you can feel like maybe the universe does right the ship and also (more importantly) as a reminder to all of us to keep our own shit together so that karma doesn't bitch slap us!
Glad you got a little vindication!!

Way to go karma :) I like her
Eta: OW put up a post on FB that said "Karma is only a bitch if you are". So oblivious!!! Since dday she's been arrested on a bench warrant (driving unregistered/uninsured) and 3 of her pets have died. I feel bad for the animals but not her!

I can relate to this part. For a number of years, my FWH's annual work reviews were satisfactory. The review following D-Day was outstanding. When he told me about it, I remarked that perhaps it was due to him focusing on his job instead of his cheating. I saw the light bulb go off in his head and he agreed.
A year and a half later, he got a nice promotion/raise. Another eye-opener for him. For seven long years he thought he kept his cheating separate from everything else. It clearly impacted everything.
I do hope that your H does get the promotion. If he does, maybe you can get a good quality chocolate fountain for your church.
I like real chocolate way too much to be a part of that! We're all about authenticity here these days, and not gimmicks.
And, love the "meep, meep!"
