My big baby girl (9.5 year old mastiff) is having hind leg problems. She had this issue last Fall and vet thought it was a minor stroke. She suddenly struggles with being able use her back right leg and her back left leg is also week. She cannot correct her toes (when you curl them under). When I touch her leg, hip, and back she does not react as though it is painful. She doesn't want to walk at all - usually when a dog injures a leg then can do the three legged hobble.
I have an appointment at her vet in an hour. This came on suddenly and progressively became worse. Maybe it's an injury, maybe musculo-skeletal. Not sure. Really worried. Please, keep me in your thoughts. At 9.5 years she is a "senior mastiff" but has been in exceptional health until the incident in the Fall and now. I'm really worried that this is very serious... waiting is the worst part! Image below (she's the big baby girl on the right)

Since then I have survived cancer surgery and a heart attack.
Now he's sorry, but it's too late. He died an alcoholic on 9/5/17.

Vet is nearly positive it's hip dysplasia. They gave me a referral to an orthopedic surgeon (can't see her until the end of next week) :/ Apparently, hip dysplasia cane have a sudden onset of symptoms. Shocking that it was never seen in her before now (9.5 years old). At her age, surgery is not really feasible so I guess I will be pursuing medical management. They gave me a ton of pills - pain killers, NSAIDs, and some Glucosomine (which I will wait to add to her diet until she can go to the bathroom without discomfort - don't want her getting diarrhea on herself).
Such a pricy problem...
