Short recap, WH and I heading back into mediation today. down to a few main sticking points. Car loan, funds used on affair, my healthcare, imputed income for 2015 forward.
The topic of imputed income....I used to work before children, the last five six years I've been working part time at home. I did more than usual last year so our calculations will be based on last years salary. Not even close to that number for this year do to extra circumstances, but ok.
WH is fine with this amount being used for the remainder of this year for support payments and child support, assuming we begin payments as soon as we can, but wants to plug in an imputed income that will start in January.
My concerns, I have no idea what I can land being out of my industry for 13 years. I'm actively looking, had a few initial interviews but nothing so far working out. So I'm trying, but know this is going to take a few months at least.
I suggest not plugging in imputed income, but that we set a date to recalculate in 2015, in January even, with me full knowing I have to land a good job by then. I just would feel better not putting in a guessed number.
Do I have negotiating room here? The meditator sounded like she wanted to use an imputed amount as well. My questions, when a spouse decides to not work, can the other person then request a recalculation with imputed income? If it's a voluntary choice? I feel like I'm in good faith here, I'm looking, I'm not choosing to not work full time anymore.
