Yesterday I was coming out of a parking lot onto a busy main thoroughfare during rush hour and had to make a left. My thought was, "I'm never going to get out of this lot". As soon as I stopped, one car on each side stopped and waved me into the lane. I was so happy and made me think, "And NYers have a bad rap! We are not that bad...check out these courteous people letting me go!"

Next stop was dropping DD of at a bus stop in a crazy busy parking lot where there is a ton of construction. The parking lot is confusing with all the construction cones, signs, changing lanes, etc. So I get to the end of one lane and slowed down because I wasn't sure exactly what was next. I was at a near stop (but not completely) and a woman was driving past on apparently what was the 'main road' and she was going pretty fast. I realized she had the right of way (I guess) so I stopped and gave her the humble 'I'm sorry' look and put up my hands to wave her ahead. She zips past and flips me the bird! I was like, Damn! that was really not necessary, and she has kids in the car! So much anger.

It just made me laugh. I went from one extreme to another in 10 minutes. And then I wondered, what makes some people such angry drivers? People need to relax! Spread love, not hate and the world will be a better place!

That is all. I'm done reflecting .

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

That would never happen here...you just assume everyone is carrying a gun

Oh, boy !

We are so not used to that. When we lived in PA it struck me so odd when I would see a guy with a gun peeking out from under his pant leg or something.

I would always do a double take. It's just strange to me, not having grown up seeing that.

I'm a very angry driver. My driving style is "Move or get the f@ck out of my way!"

I tend to not let people out and make extra sure that it's clear before I'll go out. Years ago someone waved my niece through, and and ended up getting t-boned by another car that was hidden by the car doing the waving.

I'm with Sad. I don't care if you want to go faster than me, or slower than me. Just pick one and don't hang in my blind spot especially when I'm towing a trailer

When DS was working for a plumbing supply company he was driving their big truck and got waved into the lane and wound up totaling a Maserati. (nobody got hurt, thank God)

I told him, if you're going to total a car, it might as well be a Maserati! Go big or go home, right?

Im from MA so we are all rude drivers....and the city I work in is horrid....there is one intersection called Kelly Square, and its extremely confusing and difficult to get through....I go through it daily. The only way to get through is to pick someone to cut off and go!!!

I am constantly afraid that if I make someone mad they will attack me!

I get pissy when people tail gate me... especially on a two lane road where they could just as easily go around me...

This happens alot where I live. For some reason, my car's ass is more appealing then the open road around me??

I will usually pull the stomp on the brakes trick, just enough to get their attention w/o causing a crash!

I don't care if you want to go faster or slower, just go the fuck around me already.

Otherwise I'm pretty calm on the road and will wave people into my lane... never across lanes.

Just this morning I watched a SUV blow thru a red light without slowing down at all. I believe this was due to a common ailment that is spreading rapidly known as "driving with your head up your ass" syndrome. I see it in every state I visit, and it seems to be getting worse. THOSE are the idiots that really worry me!!

Just to clarify---the road I was waved on to was one lane each way, so there was no possibility of a car blindly coming in another lane.

Phoenix,

Those people scare me too!
