Hey guys, my promo is about to expire with AT&T. I've been paying $40 month for 12mpbs. I've been really happy with it. I've had like one outage that was fixed rather quickly. I live in South Florida and the weather never seems to kill my connection. No slow downs, can stream well. However, my bill is about to go up to $55. I called them to see if they could do anything on the price. All they said they could do is bump up my speed for the same cost but no promo unless I want to bundle phone and television. I don't have cable or a home phone and don't plan to in the future.

The only other ISP in my area is XFinity/Comcast. However, I've heard nightmares about them. Again, I could only do a promo for a year and likely (like AT&T) would have to pay installation. Plus unless you want a hard hit on your credit report, you have to pay a deposit.

So should I just suck up the increase and call every few weeks to see if they can give me a discount? Should I switch?

Call and ask for the retention dept. I have had good success with my provider by calling and explaining, I hate to change, but I will.
