I just wanted to take a minute to share some good news in my life that's all happened in the last few weeks.
After six months of IC, my therapist and I acknowledge that we're at a crossroads. We've met my original goals and I'm in a good place to cut back or stop therapy for awhile if I choose. I feel really happy about this.
On a similar note, BH and I have surprised our MC in the best way. We're healing faster than he had originally anticipated so he's cut our original timeline for dealing with all our attachment injuries (my PA and EA and BH's EA) in half. That means we have about 6 weeks left. BH and I are prepared for curve balls that may lengthen his estimate but overall we're thrilled.
Family events with my inlaws have been a little bit better lately. SIL/OBS is coming to family events she doesn't need to be at even if she knows I'll be there. BH sees this as a good sign. Some are better than others but at the last family dinner she even looked in my direction and gave a small smile. After consulting with BH and my MIL we decided that she might be ready for the last apology letter I've wanted to give her for awhile.
Our wedding anniversary was this weekend and it went really well. We couldn't find a babysitter but we had a fun day celebrating it with the kids. I was worried but BH seemed happier than some of our past anniversaries. In spite of a few triggers it was a good day for me too.
I know there'll be some setbacks ahead but today I'm hopeful and happy to recognize how far we've come. I'm glad that I'll continue to have SI for any support, advice or help.
