As the Chicago G2G approaches I am super jealous of those attending. I really wanted to go! I had to make a decision though. Chicago G2G, or remodel my kitchen. The kitchen won and I am sooo excited to have it finished. The last tile was laid just yesterday and I believe it came out beautiful. I have my dream kitchen. HT and I did most of the work on it. The only bit we hired out was the tile on the floor. We refinished the cabinetes, replaced the backsplash, replaced the dishwasher and put on a stainless door for the oven. It was a lot of busy weekends but so worth it! here are some pics.

After (no matter how many times I resize it, it's ginormous, lol):

Ok, I'll put my opinion aside of you not going to Chicago for a minute.....

It looks awesome! Great work.

And your marriage survived a kitchen remodel that you worked on together. (BTDT) Even more impressive.

Congrats Woes and HT!

That's a very sexy kitchen.

LOVE the new kitchen! Such great taste you two have.

We used the Rustoleum cabinet resurface kit. It worked beautifully, although the first step of deglossing was kind of a pain in the ass. We plan to do the bathroom the same way so obviously not a terrible experience! Just time consuming. We will see how well it lasts over time with some wear and tear.

Hopefully those wonderful looking floors are shot glass resistant...

So does that mean you have committed to coming out in October? I mean it when I say your absence will be unacceptable!

Interestingly enough we work very well together when we put our minds to it! We did an entire room addition together when we lived in California. We want to reptile the entry as well. We have already decided that we won't hire that out again. We plan to just dive in and get it done ourselves!

Thanks all. We consider ourselves handy and take pride in the work we have done together!

Ummm... No offense, but I don't think I want to see your entry when it's done.
