Its time to get down and dirty!
MOBY fans....discuss!!!

abbycadabby posted 6/30/2014 15:24 PM

What do you want to discuss?!

GabyBaby posted 6/30/2014 15:26 PM

All of it. Any of it.
Where to start...?!

The whole gang that was after Bri and the kids.
The way she ended things. Another book in the works?
Henri Christian!!! (OMG, I actually felt my heart break).

What's on your mind?

abbycadabby posted 6/30/2014 15:32 PM

Oh gosh. Henri Christian. The way she described the sound of his head hitting the ground. Terrible.

Poor Jane and Fanny.

Poor Claire getting shot!

Yay for Ian getting married and having a child!

I think there's going to be another book. I'm glad Bri and Roger and the kids are okay. I feel like DG still needs to tie up some loose ends though- will William and Jamie ever reconcile? What happens with Lord John/Duke of Pardloe/Ben? What's next for the MacKenzies?

I completely agree with this.
Not just what's next for the MacKenzies, but how does the Claire/Jamie story END end.

GabyBaby posted 6/30/2014 15:45 PM

I also want to see William and Bri develop a relationship.

Will Jamie/Lord John get their old friendship back?

Soooo many things still to tie up.

abbycadabby posted 6/30/2014 16:05 PM

Well, that too. At the same time, I don't WANT them to END end.

Re: MOBY: favorite part? Least favorite part?

GabyBaby posted 6/30/2014 17:08 PM

I havent decided on a favorite part yet.

My least favorites:
1. The war bits that aren't directly focused on or about "our" characters.
DG can be very descriptive (which is great), but I find myself wanting to skip over it to get back to the main thread.

2. The portion where Roger and Buck go back to find Jem, then go off to find Roger's father instead. It was interesting though to see Black Brian and Young Jenny prior to the whipping/death.

What were your favorite/least favorite?

ETA:
I've struggled with Jamie several times in the series (as an adult reading the books vs. a older teen). I know its part and parcel of "the times" they lived in, but he can truly be an ass sometimes.

Henri Christian broke my heart!!! And I was already a mess before that with Rollo dying. And then they buried HC with rollo and I lost it.

Right?!! I loved Rollo. He was family too.

Idk if I have a favorite part yet. I need to reread!

The Rollo part was sad too!

Yes, she's working on another book, yay!

I am really looking forward to hearing the story of how Roger, Bree & kids got to the right time period & back to the ridge. I'll bet there was some adventure there!

I'll admit, I'm a little in withdrawal now that I've finished.

Yes!!! How did they find Roger, then all get back to the ridge together.

Good point, wantmore! I hadn't even considered that, but DG needs to tie up that loose end as well. How DID Bri and the kids catch up with Roger then cross to another time period? And since it's such an intense and taxing journey, will they be able to go back through to their proper time?

I think that DG is setting it up such that they will stay in Jamie's time period for good with the understanding that travelling through the stones would be too dangerous to attempt again.

I'm so glad she's writing another!

I'm about to re-read it again over the long weekend. I'm very, very happy to hear that she's working on another!
