I came across the CreditKarma site accidentally, and it sounds too good to be true.
Wondering if anyone else has experience with it?
I use both to get a ballpark of my score because each one is slightly different.
I know that AnnualCreditReport.com will provide a free, annual credit report from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion in accordance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA).
Yes. Getting your credit score costs extra.
Before you pay to get your credit scare, I suggest that you get the free reports to ensure that everything on it is accurate. If you see a credit card on your report and you are no longer an authorized user (i.e., it was stbx's credit card and you have asked to be removed as an authorized user) then you can dispute that and they will take it off. Note that being an authorized user is different than being a co-signer. I suggest you look thru everything on it. Anything negative that is more than 7 years old you can ask them to remove. And anything that is flat out wrong, you can ask them to remove. All 3 companies have a way to file an online dispute so it is easy. So I suggest you get each credit report, dispute anything you need to, wait for the dispute to be addressed, and THEN get your credit score about a month after that.
