My BFF who was on her way to come visit me for five days next week just let me know she fell off a bike and is in the hospital with hairline fractures in her pelvis (she has mild osteoporosis).

We've been looking forward to her visit for months and I'm pretty bummed.

She sounded pretty chipper on Skype just now though, and she is a hard core yogini, so I think her recovery time will be fairly swift, but not quick enough to let her come out here in time to wrap up my vacay.

Did I mention I'm bummed?

Please send healing thoughts for her, she is my bestie. thx.

HUGE bummer. My dad's (former) gf moved in with him, and the next day she was jogging, fell, and shattered her pelvis. He didn't make a very great nurse and she moved out after she was healed.

Hopefully you girls can reschedule for some quality time when she is better. Sending healing thoughts to your bestie.

Thankfully it's not shattered, just a bit cracked in a couple of places, but still a huge bummer at the start of her holiday.

She finds it difficult to slow down, which is why we're friends because I'm an expert at that. Right now she HAS to slow down for a bit...

I'm sure her family across the country will be quite frantic. Her H is in Denmark visiting their grownup kids and he will be grumpy with her for being a klutz and not wearing a helmet on a strange bike.

They are a family of the world, she works on contract in the Middle East and he's working in China, so they're pretty scattered right now.

Fortunately she's with her brother and his fiancee, so she's with family.

Right now she is raring to get outta that hospital, so we'll see...

Was out with friends yesterday and heard about another friend (colleague from work) who got in an accident on his scooter last Friday and is in hospital... with a broken pelvis!

That's too weird.

Thank Moo! She is walking today, but very unhappy about being stuck in the hospital in a little room with an elderly gentleman who is not doing well apparently.

I know she'll be extremely on top of her physio becuase she wants out of there asap.

I'm so bummed I don't get to see her, selfish, I know...
