It's a holiday weekend here in the States. DD15 and I are hauling ourselves out of bed tomorrow at an unreasonably rude hour and making our annual pilgrimage to a Fourth of July antique show that takes place in a hay field. It's huge, usually hot, very dusty/sneezy, and great fun. Well worth the Benedryl.

After antiquing and a quick lunch, I'll send her off to wasband's for the weekend. I'll see my Dad, who has been in the hospital for a couple of weeks now, and then it's back home to bleach my basement.

And no, that's not a euphemism.

What are you guys up to?

I'm taking a nice looong weekend to relax and unwind. My sister is flying in from Boston tomorrow morning and I'm going to pick her up from the city 100 miles North of here, we're going to hang out with family and have lots of baby niece time, I'm going to sleep in Sunday and Monday, go to the mountains to fish on Tuesday... Man, it's going to be great!

My town is getting hit with a category 2 hurricane tonight, so all my plans are up in the air. Was planning on going to beach, but those plans are kinda killed...

I'm headed to the Berkshires to spend time with a couple of my oldest, dearest friends. They have a camp near Williamstown. Their property borders on the Mt. Greylock Reservation, so I'll get some hiking practically from their doorstep

I made two kinds of sangria for the weekend. Then I panicked about transporting liquor in an open container but my brother the LEO reassured me that it's ok. Whew!

The bad news is that I have to come back to Albany on Saturday afternoon to work because my bitchy p/a team lead neglected to get coverage for this weekend. Oh, she's working too (She's also working her way out of a job, but that's another post...) I hope to be back in MA by 8pm. Then I can stay till Monday afternoon.

Have a safe and happy Independence Day!

I am going to a going away party tonight. Tomorrow I am going to a 4th of July g2g.

Saturday I finish packing because Sunday I fly to London for 3 days and then I travel to Kenya for a medical mission trip.

My birthday was last weekend and my son wanted to spend some time with me and my daughter. We are meeting him and his girlfriend where he lives in Chicago and we're spending the weekend hanging out. Have a few ideas of what we'll do but nothing definite, but it's always fun when we're all together.

I was also off today, but had to go in for a few hours to let carpet installers into the building. My office was sorely in need of new flooring- well worth giving up 3 hours of my weekend.

Tomorrow, I'm going to mow and then go to the Pirates game followed by fireworks in the city. A friend was going to go, but had child are issues. So, I'm going alone.

Saturday is a family reunion at mom's followed by more mowing.

Sunday will be....more mowing.

Fireworks tonight with a friend. My parents just moved to a retirement community and the rumor is they have a great view of the city's fireworks show. Less parking hassle too. Win/Win

Tomorrow my town celebrates its Sesquicentennial in a big way. Pancake breakfast, parade, family activities on Main Street and a street party in the evening. I've been volunteered by a friend to help at a children's activity booth for 2 hours. I have no idea what I'm getting myself into.

Saturday, the guy I'm no longer seeing because he didn't want to see me, wants to see me...so I'm seeing him. Yep, he's had a change of heart. I'm playing it by ear. I'll let y'all know how that goes.

I'm headed fishing early in the morning with SO and his kids, then we're having a bbq at his house with the kids and his family.

The rest of the weekend will be getting yard work and house work done before a busy work week and then a week at the beach, topped off with an immediate work trip.

If it doesn't rain, our town is having fireworks. They shoot them off close to the animal shelter we volunteer at. So DD and I are packing up snacks and heading to the shelter. We are having a mini party with our friend who runs the shelter and all the animals. We will play music, give them love, and hopefully help them be a little less scared from the sound of the fireworks.

The rest of the weekend will be gardening, relaxing, etc..

Yesterday I had a party at my friends' house.

Today I ran with my friend, going mountain biking, picnic lunching, and swimming with the guy I'm seeing, then another party later in the evening.

Tomorrow I'm running in the morning, getting some errands done, and up for something spontaneous -- or just staying in.

Sunday I'm running and then hosting a casual birthday at the beer garden. Will be a total worlds-colliding Seinfeld moment as I invited all of my different friend groups and family.

It will fly by and then back to work :(

Tomorrow and Sunday getting the house ready for the crush of family that will be arriving in the next week to do the next set of house projects. Oh, also counting down the hours until I rescue Teslet from the bowels of chaos and hoping the handover has no drama.

Just relaxing with the kiddos for most of the day, though I should probably mow the lawn. Then, they're off to XWH's for the 4th while I go to a party where the food and company are always awesome. Can't wait!

Tomorrow, doing some chores around the house, then picking up the kids to go to a family party.

Sunday is the usual chores and grocery shopping, and then the kids are back.

Happy 4th to those living in the states!

B4me, I hope he has come to his senses about fabulous you!

Today, seeing Jaws with a friend at MoMA and then watching the Brasil Colombia game before heading to a friends party to watch the fireworks. Unless it rains, fingers crossed!

Saturday, a beach day at Coney Island followed by a big group going to the local little league team for their Seinfeld night. I'm so excited! I organized it this week and it all came together.

Then a bike ride Sunday to meet friends at the Kara Walker exhibit, some hanging out in the hip neighborhood of the installation, and biking to a second date at MoMA PS1. Of course I'm already dating someone so, that might be a bad thing! Sigh.

Happy 4th all

And go Colombia!!!!

Sit. Feast on your life.
