I am single but my invite said and guest. I didn't see a number space and just listed my name. Am I supposed to put a no. 1 somewhere?
There was a small check box for attending vs. not attending that I put a check in.

Put the # attending in the *check* box
My dd just got married a couple of weeks ago.

I had already put a check there
It seemed really small.
Should I put a (1) next to my name?

Yes. Somehow indicate that only 1 will be attending. It will save the bride guessing or having to call to confirm.

I would probably write a note, something like, "just me!" Or "thank you for the plus one, but I'll be coming alone" with a big smiley face.

Definitely put a 1 by your name or a note. Helps the bride count on the number if guests and may lead to you at a table with eligible singles.
Have fun! I love weddings!
