I drove to the ocean today (90 minute drive each way). It was all foggy and misty and about 60 degrees. Pretty nice. I'm generally sort of numb so only some of the 'nice' gets through, but I'm glad I went anyway.

Walking on the beach can be very relaxing. I miss living close enough where I can just take a day trip at a moment's notice.

"pretty nice" is pretty good when you're numb. Keep having and appreciating the "pretty nice" experiences and maybe some more nice feelings will filter through. I'm glad you went too.

Keep visiting it. The ocean is very soothing to the soul.

Doing something for yourself can just be great.

For me contemplation does the exact opposite: if I'm in pain it'll put it on hold. I just absorb the beauty and let it sink in.

I may have not gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
