Anniversary anxiety

Our wedding anniversary on paper is approaching. I don't want to acknowledge it at all. I've told him that, but he may pull something because he still is proud of us getting married. My take is I wouldn't have if I had all the information (read my bio or tag line to see why). My stomach turns at thinking about this day. Do I tell him again to not do anything or just let it go? I'm planning on leaving town that day to completely get away from him. If he gets a gift for me, it may end up meeting his breakfast on the way out if you know what I mean. Just don't want to deal with this!

Hopefully he will respect your wishes and give you some space on that day. I didn't want to celebrate it... actually I still struggle with the actual day.

Making plans to leave town is not a bad idea if it's what you really want - are you planning something for yourself? Maybe a spa day or something...

Not really sure of what I will do yet other than getting out of here. Maybe I'll visit relatives farther away or my best friend from high school. I don't know yet other than either leaving the night before or very early morning of the day and taking a couple days away. My hopes are to relax and unwind a bit while gone.
