I picked this up at the airport after our vacation ended. I had started to read Not Just Friends on the plane and the reality of what we were returning to hit me so I wanted an escape book.

I'd never heard of it. I do like Gaiman's work but wouldn't consider myself an avid fan. It caught my eye in the bookstore and I picked it up.

I made it to page 110 before we got home.

I finished it about a week ago.

Although I think things happen for a reason or a lesson can be found from everything, It isnt' too often in my life that I can identify a moment where I'm like "I was called to that." Upon finishing this book, though, I knew I had been called to it at this point in my life and was led to pick up that book amongst all the hundreds of others.

It had a hard trigger moment. And the entire book left me a bit shaken - but I feel I was meant to read it, and even moreso I was meant to give it to my husband.

My sister lent me this book last year, and then hounded me for months until I read it. It stuck with me, too.

I enjoyed this book however, after reading "Song of Fire and Ice" (Game of Thrones) I felt read as a chapter not a novel.

Gaiman originally intended this to be a short story. IMO, his original intention was correct.

Great read. Short. Nice distraction. Recommend.

yes it's definitely short, especially if you've read Martin!
