only a month out from d-day and it seems everything i read or watch represents the problem.

Walking dead for example. My M is the walking dead; wounded carrying on until a D bullet puts it out of it's misery.

On another level the walkers represent our WS who will never come back to life. never be who they once were.

I haven't had obsessive video images in my mind, but having watched seasons 1-3 i knew watching episode 1 with friends i would likely trigger over the love triangle and betrayal in the series. that laurie (ricks wife) would move on to his friend shawn so quickly, my pace quickened and i felt disgusted. The videos almost started in my mind... lingering on the out skirts of my mind now...

Then you have the african guy, who want's to get rid of the zombie of his wife, she reminds him of what they had, and he now has to protect his son from his zombie mother...

I am very literarily minded, so these analogies might be a bit of a stretch. but when does seeing betrayal in film and tv stop hurting? will it ever?

The A stuff is everywhere. Early on for me it was really triggery but now it is mostly annoying.

I'll admit that early on I would just start crying at a trigger in a movie. There was a stupid movie we were watching and this guy came running out of a house he wasn't supposed to be in. It looked bad, but was actually innocent. I remember I started sobbing because I wished that when I had caught my wife leaving OMs house I wanted it to be innocent like in the movie -- not what it actually was in real life.

Now they are more annoying than painful. It sucks to be wanting to watch a show (something FWW and I did a lot before all the A mess) and getting reminded about the A.

Stuff we've watched since being in R that had A references:

Silver Linings Playbook. Like 10 minutes into that movie the poor guy is cheated on.

American Hustle. Cheating going on.

Expendables 2. Climbing up a hill Sly Stalone questions why Jason Statham is still with the girl that cheated on him.

Walking Dead. Before the first episode was over I knew where it was going with the love triangle thing.

I guess what I'm saying is that for me I still definitely notice it, but it doesn't hurt like it used to. Some things do still hurt, and badly, but references in movies don't really hurt me anymore. I'm just over 2 years out.

State Farm commercial does it for me, too. Weird that the insurance company would think this was a way to portray that they are available all the time.

WHY on earth would a guy have to call State Farm at 3 in the morning? I don't blame the wife for being instantly suspicious.
