Two days ago we told the kids about the divorce. My older son bawled and so did I. Because of that, I just told all my friends and family not to say anything about my birthday, because I don't want my birthday to be associated with negative memories in the future.
Today, I got home from work to find my STBXH has taken the kids to see his new house. It's gorgeous - 4 BR, 4 bath. So the kids are talking about how nice the new house is, about the furniture they're getting for their bedrooms. And he just got back from a trip to Florida with them.
I feel like his mistress is stealing my life, my kids, my financial security. Happy f------g birthday.

So sorry he chose to do it and rub it in on your special day. Very insensitive. I understand what you are saying on your last line. If it offers any consolation, happy birthday...

This is the one of only times I say let your lawyer try and get as much as he can for you in the divorce. Break him!!
So so very sorry hurting mom
Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's
better to leave them broken than to hurt
yourself putting it back together.

Happy birthday, hon. Do something very nice for yourself.
You are important and you matter. Your feelings matter. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your life matters. Always.

Nobody can steal their mother. Nobody.
Hold your head up.
Happy Birthday. The next one will be much happier.
