Today is shaping up to be a good day for me, so I'm going to try to rub it off on those of you who aren't doing as well or as far along. My son was giving me a hard time this morning about some chore and my BW demanded he say yes sir to me and told him that I'm his father and deserves respect! The clouds parted, the angels sang, and I think I stood a little straighter just then.
Tonight we go eat at her restaurant, which always is a good time. Decent food, over-priced wine, the silent judgement of everyone who knows, but the over-priced wine will help with that.
As long as I have your attention, I might as well further endorse Rocksmith 2014. If you've ever played guitar hero, it's the same thing, except you use an actual electric guitar and it comes with a cable that lets you plug it into your PS3 or XBOX or PC. If you don't have an electric guitar, you can get a cheap one for about 100 bucks down at Guitar Center. If you buy a second cable (and a second guitar or bass guitar) you can play multiplayer. What better therapy is there than rocking out with your spouse. It adjusts the difficulty independently for each person and gets harder as you get better (or gets easier as you get worse!). It's a lot of fun and at the end of it, holy crap, you just learned how to play an electric guitar. I can't say enough good things about it and if you're trapped at home looking for something to do with your BS, then surprise her with one of these. Mine loves her bass and is getting quite good. In fact, she's so good that the notes started fading out on the screen until they disappeared and the game forced her to play from memory. Pretty cool!
Well, time to go do some work on the couch with my laptop and force my son to watch Dead Poets Society with me (which is PG!) and pay homage to the late, great, Robin Williams.
Feeling good about myself today.
