Out of the blue on this day last year he text me "Happy Anniversary "
It was odd. We were going thru the divorce process at that point.
Now I just feel a little numb to this date.
How do you feel about your anniversaries? I guess it will hold a special memory for me from the past. But not of the present....
If you have the means, make it the date you take your kids on that fabulous vacation. If you don't have that kind of funding, do something else special, even if it's just 'dinner out at IHOP' night or 'dessert for dinner' night. If your kids are old enough to question the date, make it 'the night I started planning you' night rather than focusing on the wedding aspect.

This would be such a good thing to tell my daughter who is 8. Because she talks about our wedding, asks about my dress, what it was like, etc...esp. after attending a recent family wedding this summer. For me it brings up a LOT of memories of course. But focusing it on the beginning of the family & kids is a great way to approach the conversation.

How do you feel about your anniversaries?
Just another day on the calendar to me, even though douche nozzle XPOS sent me a text that said, "Happy former anniversary." He won me a glass of wine with that text on a bet I had with a colleague about whether he would recognize the date in some way. It means nothing to me whatsoever, even after having celebrated over 20 of them in our marriage...
