I'm on Long Island in my hometown again visiting friends. Last night a high school friend (40+ years ago
) put on a Short Film show. One was so funny, I was crying. Afterward, we went a new bar that wasn't even open yet; she had a private party just for the film-goers.
Today I went shopping with one of my friends and then we had lunch. We talk every week or so on the phone, but it was good to catch up over a meal.
Tonight was another BBQ with the friends who always put me up when I'm here. Other friends came by and we had lots of laughs (and sangria and lemoncello )
Tomorrow I'm going to the Lush store in the mall to pick up my sorely missed bath and beauty supplies, then the craft store. Tomorrow night I'm taking my hosts out for a seafood dinner.
I love my friends

huh. I started the weekend throwing up with a rather nasty 12 hour bug. Followed that with a appointment with a doc about my ankle which was a good news/bad news kind of thing.
Today there were household chores and then we (me and the boys) had dinner with local friends we don't see often enough. Followed by the ever exciting back to school supply shopping. (I wish I had a nickel for every time three boys said "Oooooh! sharpies!!!!")
The boys and I watched the new Doctor Who.
Tomorrow? Hopefully neither of the boys will pick up the virus, since DS13 says his tummy hurts. Backpack packing and sorting said school supplies and school clothes.

I was having a pretty good day until I saw my ex and OW drive past me in his car. It has thrown me off my game. My weekend is a downer. I'll try to keep busy tomorrow and go visit some friends - always the cure for what ails me!

I have my beautiful kids with me this weekend. Last night I introduced dd8 to Dr Who (I'm on season 2).
Today I took them to a water park, the library, and they had a play date over. DD8 said it's the best day of her life (prone to hyperbole at that age)
While they hung out together I reorganized my kitchen, now that I've been living in the new place for a little while and have some data on how we all move across the kitchen. All tupperwares are stowed in the right places and the sandwich baggies are right under the place we make sandwiches in the morning. I'm a busy single dad, every little second helps.
Tomorrow I have church, an activity with the kids and some shopping for socks for them.
Kids are now asleep and satisfied and I was able to keep the house mostly clean throughout the play date.. It's so peaceful without the WW-nagtress. I think I want to stay single for quite a while. Or find someone who likes peace and quiet someday.

Yesterday my AC was being replaced, and it was looking to be more of a job than maintenance expected. So I spent the night at DD2's house. I shared my birthday breakfast with DGD.
I came home to a cool apt. YAY
Then went dancing and met another lady with the same birthday! It was fun.
Tomorrow chores, cleaning and watching DGD while DD works.

Friday, I met a good friend in the afternoon, and some former co workers in the evening- this is where I worked when I was going throughout the D. Those people got me through.
Yesterday, I went to an outdoor antique show with a girl friend. After she left, I toured an old fort (history nerd here).
Last night, we got together for sister/nephew/nephew birthdays. Today is grass cutting, groceries, and more nephew celebration- because he doesn't like shared celebrations- it's all about him.

GPlayed, after you've collected enough kitchen data, we would like to see the cost-benefit analysis.
